H.I.M. Screamworks Print
The H.I.M. album has dropped and all the posters we printed for this have been shipped. Around September of last year we got a call from Matt Taylor over at Varnish Studios about helping create natural printing flaws for the cover of the new H.I.M. album. We were stoked about the project because it was a great break from the daily routine. While in the studio we basically did our best to destroy the print. Layering multiple colors, spraying with water, etc. You can check out a montage of those here…
Then in early December we got a call from WB about possibly printing the cover image as a print. Well hell yeah we would. It was a chance to really collaborate and to become a part of the image. It was also a project that helped us think outside the box as a printer. We basically created 5000 monotype prints. Each one of the first layers are slightly different. We got to mix ink, spray water, create textures etc.
Thanks to Michelle Ward for gathering the user photos and compiling them for us.
Make sure to check out her blog here. You can also check out the forums to see some of the other prints that people got here.
Here are some photos of the actual printing of the posters.
