Wu-Sciples on sale now!

What better way to celebrate Wu-Tang’s 20 year anniversary than with the release of Wu-Sciples, a ten color print celebrating one of the rawest groups in music. This print has been a long time in the making for us at Two Rabbits. When we had the idea we knew only one person could illustrate it right, Adam Hathorn aka Honkey Kong. We were already major fans of Adams work. He has illustrated jobs for us, been a great host when we were in San Diego and he is one of the best tattoo artist we know. Adam is also Wu obsessed, like us. With that said here is Adam in his own words…

“So far as my memory takes me, my introduction to Wu Tang was when 36 chambers was released in 93. I had to wikipedia that, my memory is not that good. My friend Strobe Beats played me “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing ta Fuck Wit” on a walk man, or some shit, in the cafeteria. The beat made me wanna punch people, much like the hard core and punk rock music that I was listening to at the time. I immediately got a copy, and it was on constant rotation. That was what got me back into hip hop music. Previously I was listening to alot of Public Enemy and alot of the native tongue stuff, Tribe Called Quest, LONS, De La etc. After that hip hop was getting boring. I was young and turned to hard core music, especially in Boston where it thrived at that time. When Wu came with that raw sound with production that was stripped down and unpolished, it was an easy step back in. Wu Tang has been a huge part of music in my life since. I’m sure there’s been few days since that have passed without me hearing Wu in some form. I tattoo all day, or draw all day, so there’s some form of music always playing, and there’s plenty on shuffle.

I was lucky enough to be asked by the guys at Two Rabbits Studios to create the “Wu-sciples” print. Their idea was solid out ofthe gate. Wu Tang last supper with Big Baby Jesus front and center. I said sign me up. The illustration took a bit to do since they’re artist deep, but nonetheless a fun project. Thanks for choosing me to do this print, see you Saturday for the show….. Wu Tang is FOREVER!” -Adam Hathorn

Tune-Yards Poster!

Tune-Yards is one of our favorite discoveries of 2011. It’s rare a poster job will turn on us onto our next favorite thing, but when it does happen, it RULES! We used some scans of our test prints to create the abstract color-scapes. Re-purposing and recycling our test prints is the direction a lot of our work is going in now. We arranged them, added the type, and Separated it into CMYK and screened onto a pearlescent cover stock. The black is printed with a METALLIC black ink for extra pop!

We only have a few left so get one while you still can HERE!

MAN MAN Poster is Here!

Man Man is one of the most fun bands to see live. We were both instant life long fans after seeing these guys jamming. We made this full bleed poster for their show at the glasshouse in Pomona. We tried to capture their energy, and harmonic contingency with one solid visual. Not an easy task, but sometimes great things come out of simple doodles.

This poster is three colors on 110# Cougar White coverstock.
18″x24″
Edition of 55 prints

Jim Gaffigan Poster AVAILABLE!

Jim Gaffigan is HILARIOUS! If you haven’t watched one of his stand up shows, you should… Best known for his schtick about Hot Pockets,         his manager actually asked us not to reference hot pockets in this poster. So we decided to focus on jims pale pale flesh instead.
luckily he loved it! phew!

This poster is printed in white, red and black on a lovely blue coverstock.

Adele

Adele has risen from the veritable ashes of top 40. An angelic voice calling us out of so much auto-tuned muck! Our tribute to her and her old school class is this lovely little poster. Its humble at 11”x23” and only 2 colors (Orange and Black). Lovingly screened on a light, slightly green cover stock.

EELS POSTER NOW ONLINE!

Our EELS poster is finally available in our STORE! This is one of our favorite posters we have done this year. Pictures cannot do it justice, it looks so much better in person! Check it out here and pick one up HERE.

EELS is a one man musical monster. His beard and glasses are as iconic as his music. So we wanted to pay homage to the man behind the myth with this poster. This 3 color treasure is printed on 100# Cougar natural, and comes signed and numbered as an edition of 29. Standard frame size of 18”x24”

Z-trip, De La Soul, Nosaj Thing and Daddy Kev!

WHOA! that shit's FRRSSSH!!!

Whats better than a Z-trip show? Z-trip with De La Soul! And how do you make that better? You add a dash of Nosaj Thing, and a sprinkle of Daddy Kev. A music show hasn’t sounded this good since your dad  wore bell bottoms and ran around shirtless in the mud!

This poster is 3 colors (Wood Brown, Gold, Metallic Blue) on 100# Cougar Natural Cover. A nice even edition of 88, signed and numbered by a couple of rabbits in sunny Los Angeles.

TRAILER PARK BOYS!

The boys performed live at The Sasquatch Music Festival this year, or as Bubbles would say, the “Samsquamtch” Festival. In preparation we watched the entire series in the office in record time. We decided that the easy way out would be to show love to Bubbs, Julian, or Ricky. So we decided to pay homage to the most tormented soul in Sunnyvale: Jim Lehy. Drunk, bald, and obsessed with cleaning up the park of $#!* rats.

We bring you “Jim Lehy’s guide to COP TALK: Listen and Learn” A visual field guide to the wild world of $#!*…

3 Colors (White, Red, and $#!* Brown)  18 x 24 Cream Coverstock. Edition of 50
